School life can be stressful, and SpiritVR allows students to explore relaxation and mindful well-being when they feel anxious or stressed.

Upton Hall School FCJ’s students tried SpiritVR – Journey, our mental health well-being application aiming to teach mindful practices within VR.

Mindfulness in VR

There are six lessons in total, each designed to explore calming environments, engage in guided meditation, and learn mindful techniques that can be applied to everyday life.

The Trial

The trial involved students from Year 7 to Sixth Form. Before each lesson, participants recorded how they were feeling before a lesson, and after. After completing 22 lessons, the results were in.

Out of a score of 21, the student’s anxiety score reduced from an average of 9.86 – indicating moderate anxiety to an end score of 4.95 – reflecting mild anxiety. 

What do the results mean?

Our trial results show that students had a significant 23% reduction in anxiety after completing a 10 to 15-minute lesson. This reduction shows the potential of SpiritVR as a powerful tool for emotional well-being.
