Amy Cawley is a undergraduate at Liverpool University studying Psychology. Amy is sponsored by Liverpool Uni and Santander to do a short internship at Scenegraph Studios. Here are her words on the project she is doing at Scenegraph Studios working with SpiritVR.

I am Amy, I am currently in my final year at the University of Liverpool, studying psychology. After I graduate from university, I am looking to become a youth worker, as I would like to support and motivate young people in developing a range of skills. After several years as a youth worker, I would then like to challenge myself and put my psychology degree into practise by joining the police. This degree will assist me in the career as I can apply my psychological knowledge and knowledge about behaviour from the degree to real-life scenarios. However, I still have my options open to any careers that may arise in the meantime.

When I heard about Scenegraph Studios using virtual reality to improve mental health and well-being I was fascinated! Therefore, I thought this would be an interesting topic to do for my dissertation as there are very few studies about virtual reality being used to reduce stress. There has never been a more crucial time to find alternative solutions to improve wellbeing due to the immense pressures on mental health services at the moment!

Stay tuned to learn more about Amy’s work in the upcoming weeks.
